Terms of Service

The service

TeenCue helps a parent or guardian understand how their teen or pre-teen uses supported AI chat services. A Chrome extension detects prompt submissions on those services, TeenCue classifies them, and your dashboard and Weekly Teen Brief summarise the result.

TeenCue reports categories, safety signals and trends. It does not provide conversation transcripts, it covers only the AI chat services it currently supports, and it is not a complete record of everything your teen does online.

TeenCue is early software under active development. Features may change, and supported AI services may be added or removed.

Who may use TeenCue

You must be an adult parent or guardian, able to enter into these terms, and responsible for the minor whose device you connect. By using TeenCue you confirm that you have the authority to monitor that device.

You are responsible for how you use what TeenCue shows you, including any conversation you choose to have with your teen about it, and for following the laws that apply where you live.

Permitted use

You agree not to:

• use TeenCue to monitor an adult, or anyone whose device you do not have the authority to manage
• use TeenCue to stalk, harass, intimidate or control another person
• attempt to access another family account or data that is not yours
• reverse engineer, disrupt, overload or probe the service, except where that right cannot be excluded by law
• resell or redistribute the service without our written permission
• use TeenCue for any unlawful purpose

No covert or unauthorized monitoring

TeenCue is built for informed family awareness, not secret surveillance. Install and pair it with the knowledge of the teen whose device you are connecting.

Installing TeenCue on a device belonging to someone who has not been told, or whose device you have no authority over, is a breach of these terms. We may suspend or end accounts used that way.

Your account

You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity that happens under your account. Keep your password private, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter, including the display names and age ranges you give to child profiles.

Service availability

TeenCue is provided without any uptime commitment. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, during incidents, or because of a failure at a provider we depend on.

We do not guarantee that every AI interaction will be captured, or that anything captured will be classified correctly. Detection depends on the browser extension running on a supported browser, and on the layout of third party AI websites, which can change without notice. Activity may be missed for reasons outside our control, including a device being offline, an extension being disabled or removed, an AI service changing its interface, or use of an AI service or device that TeenCue does not support. Do not treat an empty dashboard as proof that nothing happened.

AI classifications are imperfect

Categories, topic labels, safety classifications and severity levels are produced by an automated AI system. They will sometimes be wrong. A prompt may be placed in the wrong category, a real concern may be missed, and something harmless may be flagged.

TeenCue classifies what appears to have been asked, not why it was asked. Treat every signal as a starting point for a conversation, never as a conclusion about your teen.

Not professional advice, and not an emergency service

TeenCue does not provide medical, mental health, psychological, legal or other professional advice, and it is not a crisis or emergency service. It does not monitor in real time and cannot alert anyone on your behalf.

If you are worried about the immediate safety of your child or anyone else, contact your local emergency services or a qualified professional. Do not rely on TeenCue to detect or escalate an emergency.

Subscriptions and billing

TeenCue is a paid subscription. You can pay monthly or annually, and the price of each is shown before you check out. There is no free tier.

• Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or annual depending on the plan you chose, until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not end the period you have already paid for.
• When you cancel, your access continues until the end of the current billing period and then stops.
• If a payment fails, we may suspend access while the payment is retried. You will have the chance to update your payment method.
• Prices may change. A change applies from your next renewal, never retrospectively, and we will tell you before it takes effect.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered on pages Stripe hosts, and TeenCue never receives or stores your card number.

Payments are generally not refundable, except where a refund is required by law. If something has gone wrong with your billing, email support@teencue.com and a person will look at it.

Losing paid access is not the same as losing your account. If your subscription ends, your account, your child profiles and their history remain, and you can subscribe again. Deleting your data is a separate request, described in the Privacy Policy.

Intellectual property

TeenCue, including the web application, the browser extension, the name and the design, belongs to TeenCue and is protected by intellectual property law. These terms give you a personal, non exclusive, non transferable, revocable right to use the service for your own family, and nothing more.

The data about your own family stays yours. You give us permission to process it so that we can provide the service described in the Privacy Policy.

Termination

You may stop using TeenCue at any time by removing your connected devices and uninstalling the extension. Email support@teencue.com if you would also like your account and its records deleted.

We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, that puts other users or the service at risk, or that is used for covert or unauthorized monitoring. We may also discontinue the service. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will give notice first.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

TeenCue is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error free, or that its classifications will be accurate or complete.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TeenCue will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or any harm arising from your reliance on a classification, from activity the service did not detect, or from a decision you made based on what the service showed you.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. When we do, we will revise the date shown at the top of this page. If you keep using TeenCue after an update, the updated terms apply to your use of the service.
